Folding Paper Cranes

Our school is taking part in the project 'Rice that Binds, Cranes @ North West'.
For every 10 cranes folded, Tong Seng Produce Pte Ltd will donate 1 kg of rice to the needy.
The target for us is 30 cranes per pupil.

Please do not start folding so many cranes now as we have to fold the cranes using special paper provided by the company.

Lesson Update (Wednesday)

Our lessons for today...

English
(1) We revisited the folktale 'The Red Hill' and answered some inferential questions based on it (Workbook page 30).
(2) Pupils learnt about the different types of verbs - action verb, saying verb and thinking or feeling verb (Textbook page 22). Then they identified these verbs in the folktale 'Never Ride a Tiger' (Workbook page 31).
(What you can do at home: Read English textbook page 22. Then underline with colour pencils the different types of verbs in the folktale 'Never Ride a Tiger' on pages 18-19 of the English textbook - orange for action verbs, blue for saying verbs and green for thinking or feeling verbs).
(3) Pupils did 4 cloze passages (Workbook pages 32-33).

Maths
Pupils solved some problems on the topic on 'money' (Workbook pages 26).

Lesson Update (Tuesday)

This is what we did in class today.

English
We read another folktale, 'The Red Hill', on pages 20-21 of the English textbook. Pupils identified the setting, characters, series of events, ending and purpose of the folktale (pages 26-29) of the Workbook.
(What you can do at home: Read the folktale on pages 20-21 of the English textbook.)

Maths
1) Pupils did the challenging practice on page 25 of the Maths Workbook.
(What you can do at home: Try out the sums in your J.U.N.K. Click here and select 'Maths Challenging Practice' for the 2 questions.)
2) Pupils went to the computer lab to practise uploading and downloading assignments from and to the school portal.

The school is posting some worksheets to you. You may receive them tomorrow.

Lesson Update for Pupils on Leave of Absence (Mon)

Hi, I hope you have not missed us too much. Just to keep you updated on our lessons...

English
1) We read a folktale on pages 18 and 19 of our English textbook. Then we discussed the folktale. Pupils identified the setting, characters, problem, series of events, ending and purpose of the folktale. They also answered some questions based on the folktale (pages 22-25 of the English Workbook).
(What you can do at home: Read the folktale on pages 18-19 of the English textbook.)

2) The Spelling List for Term 3 was given out today. (Click here.)

3) Homework - English worksheet

Maths
1) Pupils did 8 2-step word problems on the topic 'money'.
(What you can do at home: Read pages 22-25 of the Maths textbook and try out the sums there.)

Class Matters
1) We have a new seating arrangement. The pupils are now in different groups. For the time being, they are also seated apart from their partners, like during the examinations.

2) A new class timetable was given out. (Click here.)

3) We looked at some slides on personal hygiene and social responsibility.

You can still communicate with your classmates by phone. Spend your time wisely at home and read more books.

Note: The office is making arrangements for the worksheets to be passed to you. You will probably get your worksheets on Wednesday.

First Day of Term 3

Hi boys and girls, are you looking forward to the first day of school?

Please take note of the following.

1) The school will mail to your home a new travel declaration form. (Check your letter-box in the next few days.) Please get your parent to sign it and bring it to school on Monday.

2) Bring your thermometer on Monday. Make sure it is working.

3) Do not go to school if you have a fever or flu-like symptoms.

4) If you are given leave of absence, please do not go to school. Check the class blog for updates and homework.
